Hi

I bought a Chuwi Hi8 pro tablet a few months ago.
There is a discrepancy in the tablet serial number.
Serial number on the back of the tablet: Hi8 Pq32G22160506682
Android -> Settings -> System -> About Tablet -> Status -> Serial number: Hi8 PQ32G22160506691
Bios serial number: Hi8 PQ32G22160506691

But after I switched the tablet off and on, the serial number changed. Current serial number: 0123456789ABCDEF

Why is this possible?
What should I do?

Hi, @ersan

0123456789ABCDEF is different from the serial number which i said.
We need to identify the production date and batch of tablet according to serial number(you can find it at the back of tablet).
Hi8 PQ32G22160506691 means that the tablet is made in May(05), 2016(16).
As far Hi8 Pq32G22160506682 is different from Hi8 PQ32G22160506691, maybe it is Chuwi's negligence. But they use same softwares and firmwares.

Hi emily

Why does the serial tablet number now change to "0123456789ABCDEF"?

Maybe correct serial number isn't written to device. But it doesn't matter, we often distinguish tablet through the serial number written in the back of tablet.

in your bios the serial no is written as default serial number: 0123456789ABCDEF. this happens quite often when some bios settings are changed and saved or the bios takes default values in order to boot. this matter is of no consequence , unless you are using specialised software which relies on the unique serial nos of tablet to run. in any case if you want to change the serial nos in tbe bios i had written  a tutorial here a few months back. search the forum for it.
