Is that the factory version? Or must we update the BIOS with the file?

Yes, it is factory version.
And you don't need to update the Bios if it is not necessary.

Emily, is it correct there has been a different factory BIOS before? Like the OP's Hi13 difference with TechTablet guy: http://forum.chuwi.com/thread-3907-1-1.html

This is Emily's instructions for flashing BIOS if needed:
Hello,
Pls try to flash Bios which i have uploaded on Chuwi forum.

Copy the files into the root directory of USB disk which is formated with FAT32. Then press F12 when you boot tablet.

Further specifics by Hackerjack, I'm not sure how much of it is required compared to Emily's version:
Unpack the zip/rar file to your usb stick (needed to be fat32 formated and named WINPE)
plug your usb stick in the tablet, remember also connect a keyboard, turn on the tablet and tap F12 until a blue meny pops up, choose to boot from your usb

MicroUSB OTG cable or adapter to USB should work with the Hi13 microUSB connection as well right? Without having to use the TypeC right?

At least for anyone with what they have to be able to continue with the tablet even if required to update BIOS before being able to use it.

People often do have USB keyboard and microUSB OTG. So at least for the update. They don't need to buy the Hi13 rotary keyboard for that. Which is not what you said, but just to clarify.
