Hi Motobot,

Yes, I agree, but one last thing, is it possible that my downloaded information is not quite what it should be and therefore does not get the response that it should from the flash drive when commanded to open the UEFI menu?  Have a great day.  Lou

Hi Lou,
It does not matter what data you downloaded and copy into your flash drive, in fact. The entrance to the UEFI menu is not conditioned by anything other than the corresponding command from the keyboard.
The only possible reason for this defect is the lack of communication between the keyboard and the tablet.
Perhaps you should pay attention to the serviceability of the OTG cable.
In addition, it's a pity that I can not see your video to be sure that you produce clicking on the button at the very time when it's necessary.
Lou, in some cases it is useful to accept help from a specialist to get out of the impasse. I mean someone who can be directly involved in the process. You know, young geeks sometimes do wonders. Perhaps you have someone nearby.

Hello Motobot,

Yes, I understand that now, thanks to you.  I can assure you both OTG cables that I used were in excellent condition and reliable.
Note I don't know how to make my video available on YouTube although I managed to upload it.  If you give me an email address, I can simply add it to the video, allowing you to view it.  I'm not a fervent user of YouTube and don't know too much about it.  How can I authorize you to view it?
I'd be very happy to find someone around that could help me with the Vi8 tablet.  It's a pity that I can't use it.
On another note, does the serial number of the tablet give you any kind of indication as to how to proceed to flash a tablet?  Being a dual-boot tablet, shouldn't that allow me to try with Android?  I'm simply wondering if the UEFI is strictly for Windows or is it also used for Android?  Just a thought.
In any case, my friend, you've been very helpful and I certainly appreciate all the help you've given me, despite the negative results.  Not being very 'tecky' as they say, you boosted my morale, hihi !  Many a time, I thouht 'this is it, it's going to work this time'.  Thank you very much, Motobot. and have yourself a great day.
Lou

Hey Motobot,
Had an idea about the flashing using a flash card instead of USB drive.  What do you think?  Have a great day.

Hello Lou,
First of all I received your video and I hasten to inform you that all you are doing is right. The problem is not in your mistakes, it's a hardware failure. I think that a reasonable choice will be to involve a local repair shop specialist.
I think you did your best in these circumstances. Unfortunately, without finding out the reason, you can not get out of this impasse.
Unfortunately the SD card reader can not be used as a boot device. The SD card is visible only in the loaded OS.
I advise you to think about asking for help at a nearby repair shop or a good friend who knows about the computer hardware.
You can count on my help at any time.

Hello again Motobot,
Hope you're doing well?  Am wondering if I could flash my Chuwi Vi8 CW1506 serial ......01623 with Windows 10 as described earlier or do you think its too risky?
At the moment the Vi8 tablet is useless, and I'm getting more and more impatient, so I'd like to try something else.  Your advice is valuable to me, so grateful for your reply and advice.  Thanks very much, Lou
