I received my tablet two weeks ago and it has the BIOS version I2W6_AP135.037. According to S/N (1707XXXXX) its date is 17/07.
I bought the tablet thinking I could have a dual boot system with Linux. Following a Linux installation guide for this device, I tried to flash BIOS to v1.16 so I could have dual boot, but I had no success because of an "different hardware" or some similar message appeared (no info exists about the new BIOS version on the net and by the forums I though 1.16 was the latest version so I thought I was upgrading the older firmware).
Only later I found the option for OS selection (Linux/Windows) existed in my BIOS, so I tried and installed Ubuntu directly, with the default GRUB2, and it runs OK, except for the touchscreen (and maybe some other hardware, I didn't try extensively as I'm not interested if touchscreen doesn't work)
I tried also with Kubuntu (both 16.04.3 LTS and 17.04) with same success. Not even manually loading the goodix module worked (it's not loaded automatically at startup).
I was waiting for more info from experts to appear on the net about this new version I have so I could have a fully functional dual boot system when I saw this thread.
I'm glad to give you info about anything you want to know, specially if it helps other users with the same problem.
