For use application "Molotov" in France, need "DRM Widevine". The DRM Widevine is not included in this device whereas it is supposed to be the case since android 4.3.
How to incluse this DRM in this device please?
And is there a sheduled update of the tablet in OTA?

Hmm.. This may be why Netflix offline download isn't available on my Hi12. That's very frustrating, and I don't know why they didn't include it.

@KonstaT has provided a Widevine patch for these Chuwi devices - look here: ... -fix-freeze-kbwake/

From that page:
"Here’s how to add Widevide support on Vi10 Plus, Hi10 Plus, Hi10 Pro, Hibook, Hibook Pro & Hi12 to fix playback of DRM protected content with various media streaming apps. This patch will:

add Widewine blobs from Cube iWork8 Ultimate
How to install:

Disable dm-verity.
Download zip below and copy it to your device’s sdcard.
Boot into TWRP recovery.
Install zip in TWRP."
Installing this did NOT allow me to download in Netflix though (nor did it allow me to watch my FIOS DVR recordings like I had hoped it would)..  but, it may allow certain other things to work propery....

The reason why Netflix Offline doesn't work on Hi12 has more to do with that Hi12  - as a device is not included among the "White list" which Netflix has.

They decide which devices are allowed to use Netflix Offline. The only way for Hi12 to have a chance to get Netflix Offline is if Netflix themselves agree to this.

You need to apply for permssion from them. Read their information page from them and you will see which devices are allowed to use Offline mode.

There is more to it than a simple list of "allowed" devices.  For example, I have an "Azpen HybrxPC A1160", which I'm *sure* is not on any 'whitelist" anywhere and I can download some Netflix titles with it just fine (and it also allows me to play my FIOS DVR recordings).

Here is what the Netflix help page says (basically, it just says Windows, iOS and Android devices - nothing about specific devices that I saw)::

"Downloading TV shows and movies on Netflix

You can download select TV shows and movies to watch without an Internet connection from the Netflix app on your Apple iOS or Android mobile devices and computers or tablets running Windows 10. Downloads are not currently supported on other devices.

To download titles from Netflix on your device, you will need:

An iPhone, iPad, or iPod running iOS 8.0 or later
A phone or tablet running Android 4.4.2 or later
A tablet or computer running Windows 10 Version 1607 (Anniversary Update) or later
An Internet connection*
An active Netflix streaming account
The latest version of the Netflix Apple iOS, Netflix Android, or Netflix Windows 10 app
*Though you will be able to watch your downloaded TV shows and movies without an Internet connection, you will need an Internet connection to download content with the Netflix app.

Downloading and streaming consume similar amounts of data. If you are concerned about mobile data usage, we suggest downloading while connected to Wi-Fi. See our Help Center for more information on data usage.

If you see an error message when attempting to download or watch a title, search our Help Center for that message."

I don't know whats "missing" on these Chuwi devices, but I definitely have other "oddball' devces that seem to work fine whereas my Chuwi devices will not allow Netflix downloads...

Thank you very much all
I would say that, for now, I am not concerned by NETFIX.
I am in France and to watch the TV on my tablet. I use MOLOTOV software which use DRM-Widevine.
So that would seem to confirm that it is not a problem of device but a DRM driver matter.

Anyway I apologise if I look dummy but I am not a specialist of Android.
Is there any risk to to install TWRP recovery (about Dual Boot?) and then/also to install ?
Any caution to take on Hi12?
Does it cancel the warranty?

Thank you all
