For the last two months I have only a blank screen - no display at all. I’ve tried 4 monitors using HDMI C and DP without success. On power up the blue LED lights as usual and the fan runs but no image appears - what can I do to restore this PC to life? It was bought last year. Thanks.

The problem occurred after doing something to the mini PC.
You can enter the BIOS.

As far as I can tell, it only updated the Windows 11 installation, then would not restart with any display. Unless the BIOS was able to update itself (and then failed) as I rarely look for bios updates so soon after purchase.

Any idea which BIOS version I should have? Tks.

I’m not asking if you updated the BIOS.

- I’m asking if you can enter the BIOS and see the normal BIOS ?

The BIOS doesn’t update itself.

I have tried F1 and F2 without success. Is this right to enter the BIOS.

The CHUWI website claims you need F2 and DEL, ESC on its own. Doesn’t seem to do anything useful! 🤨

In my opinion it seems like a hardware problem.

Sorted (eventually) ! After trying various combinations - F2 managed to raise the BIOS screen for 3 seconds, before it went black for a further 3….. to be replaced with the CHUWI splash screen and the normal windows log in screen.

It then downloaded a pile of Windows 11 updates and it now restarts every time with the displays showing on DP, HDMI as normal.

Something must have prevented the BIOS from initialising at each power up, but calling on it somehow cleared the log-jam so I’m back in business (and celebrating its first birthday today!). Thanks!

Barely 1 year later, and I’m back to a blank screen on Power Up! Windows 11 has incrementally updated with no issues until very recently when it would power up and again with nothing shown on the screen. I’ve tried both DP and HDMI ports without success. They keyboard shows it can toggle the Num and Caps Lock lights, and the processor warms up and causes the fan to run faster to cool it - but nothing shows on the screen, no BIOS splash, or CHUWI logo proceeding Windows 11 start up.

Can anyone suggest where I might look for a fix - it’s too nice a machine to junk and forget about it!

TIA

I can’t see what you’re doing with the mini PC.
It’s strange that the computer isn’t displaying an image; you might not have connected a component properly.

I assume you have two cables, one HDMI and one DP ?

You are using two monitors?

What type of keyboard do you have: wired or wireless ?

The keyboard might be faulty, because the Caps Lock LED shouldn’t be turning on.

The processor heats up when you don’t clean the dust buildup from the heatsink.

To verify that everything is properly connected, disconnect everything.
Press F12 and turn on the computer.

(1) Two monitor cables DP & HDMI to 2 different monitors, each one tried separately.

(2) Keyboard is plugged in to one of the rear USB A ports. The Caps Lock and Num Lock toggle on and off when they are pressed - and have always done so following power up. If they don’t with yours you have a fault! Because is does, this confirms the Corebox ‘sees’ the keyboard and is aware it is connected.

(3) The processor heats up when the silicon is being used. There is no build-up of dust either internally or on the fins.

(4) The blue light from the power button is lit, the fan runs as expected but there is no video output seen from the monitor. With a standard motherboard I would next swap out the video card, but the Corebox doesn’t have one! I’ll reassemble and try F12 on boot up, but I remain unconvinced!
