# Is it possible to change the way the Function key works?

Hello, I need to change the way the Function keys work because **every time I need to use F5 (refresh) the wifi is disabled**, I don’t want to do a key combination to perform a function that should be a single button.  
I was checking the BIOS of my Herobook Pro but I can’t find anything that could be useful. Am I missing something?

In this forum I [found](https://forum.chuwi.com/t/hotkeys-without-pressing-fn/1639/15) that for other notebooks it is possible to change the bios parameter. Should I install a modified BIOS for my Herobook pro?

Hello  
As an alternative, if your BIOS does not have the option, try the solution I put on this topic.

It’s a thirdParty software but should solve the issue somehow.

Unfortunately, the software you mention is not compatible with Linux systems (Fedora Linux to be more specific). It’s a shame since it should be a BIOS parameter and be disabled by default as in most notebooks on the market.

Ah yeah. It’s for Windows. You didnt specify you were using Linux.  
Then, we fall on the same issue of other post.
