Thinking About Upgrading My Mini PC - RAM and SSD Help Please!

Hey everyone! :waving_hand:

So I’ve been using my mini PC for a while now and it’s starting to feel a little slow when I multitask or have too many tabs open lol. I’m thinking about upgrading the RAM and maybe swapping the SSD for a bigger and faster one but I’m not totally sure what’s compatible.

I’ve seen a few posts here about SSD upgrades and thermal stuff and it made me realize there’s actually a lot to think about before just buying something randomly.

Here’s what I’m confused about:

. Is it safe to upgrade the RAM on a mini PC or is it soldered in most models?

. For SSD upgrade - M.2 NVMe or SATA, which one is better for everyday speed?

. Does changing thermal paste actually make a big difference for temps and performance?

. Any brands or models you’d recommend for a reliable RAM or SSD upgrade?

I’ve been checking out some options here:

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=m.2+nvme+ssd+512gb+mini+pc

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=m2+nvme+ssd+256gb+used

If anyone has already upgraded their mini PC and can share what worked, that would be super helpful! Even just a quick tip or brand recommendation would mean a lot.

Thanks so much, you guys are awesome!

You’ve written a lot, but you haven’t written the most important things:
What model of computer do you have ?
How old have you had it ?
What operating system do you have ?

You can search for the model of your mini PC on the Chuwi website and see if they list it in the specifications.

One of the causes is having the hard drive almost full.

My mini PC is a year old and I noticed that the fan was running longer than when it was new.
