At which what voltage is your battery in the moment? Did you measure it?
The EC winbond is primarily necessary for the first boot after production. It's providing the firmware for the it8987e EC. The EC (the square chip with 128 pins) is taking the code from the winbond chip and is writing it into it's own flash region. After this procedure the board could also start without the ec winbond chip on it. The problem with wrong code on the EC is, it isn't in the "mood" to get the new provided code from the EC winbond . It will need a trigger to get the new code from the winbond. The trigger for sure is an emptied flash region but thats no easy task. If someone knows a better trigger (shorting some pins or sth. else) your welcome to tell. Would be a nice task for #emily finding out how to do this.

tron1 - if it was as you write, this IC (it8987e) would never reprogram. And yet it is reprogrammed when the bios change. Think how?https://expressit.pl/porady-komp ... bc-programator-kbc/ - used

In one or two weeks I have my rt809f programmer. Then I can tell you what this Chuwpid thing is doing under which circumstances. In my opinion Chuwi should quickly change its support behaviour. In first it's a no go to give such binary nukes to the customer, at second it's a shame they piss off and don't give a shit about their customers after they nuked us. At least they could sell me a functional motherboard(I'm willing to give money to solve the problem chuwi caused). But they are not able to. They don't have one!!!

@tron1 : I have not tested my battery since my Hi13 doesn't start. I just notice charge led don't lit when I plug the USB-C adaptator, just after flashing it using  USB-key created "thanks to this topic".
I will measure it next week, and perhaps try to charge it directly... But to avoid problem (explosive one) I will read about charging this kind of battery before !

Te resume :
  • The origin of my (your ?) problem is a bad EC.bin file in bios flash usb key
  • Remark : on my recent motherboard the EC.bin need to have 1MB, in previous version it's only 128kB (of course the problem is not only the siize ;-)
  • At first boot after flashing, the EC component flash another component (not a winbond 8pins) using part of EC.bin code found in winbond chip "EC" .

But I'm really not sure to be right because in this case, I need a 1MB EC.bin and have never seen one ? You need it too, don't you ? Do you have it ?

What is the ref of your Hi13, for me : Hi13 CWI534 , S/N : Q64G45171101544, motherboard : "79S4R1 AP135 4/64G"

Firmware 1.14 is for this piece of junk https://techtablets.com/2017/04/ ... rboard-photos-open/
It's a completely different device in terms of layout and voltage "creation". Further versions seem to differ only in details not leading to a helpless brick playing with wrong ec.bin. The EC is now in a state of not beeing able to communicate with the winbond chip no matter what you flash in. You can flash your phone book or a portrait of your car on it. It doesn't matter.

Hi Emily,
I require latest BIOS and Driver Package for:

Hi13 CWI534 Q64G45170700481

Also which of the full windows packages on the first page of this thread would be the correct one for the above serial number?

Regards

Tim

Hi Emily, I take it the full windows download is the one starting with http://www.mediafire.com/file/2vuuab0c7329bl7/AP135.S.10.RS2.EN%26RU%26ES%26KO%26JA%26FR%26ZH%26TW.20170705.X64.part1.rar

Hi All,
I'm new here, waiting for my Chuwi Hi13 to arrive. I've read several pages on this forum and techtablets, and was wondering whether the bios updates were really neded and which bug fixes or improvments they brought on the Chuwi Hi13 (I've long experience with installing home-built PC and am used to bios flashing generally speaking). Also, is the situation slightly different between what seems to be the two generations of hardware used for the Chuwi Hi13?
Thanks for your lights!
