I’ve removed the back plate of my Chuwi UBook X (2021 model) in order to figure out what the battery was (a 3479C7 rechargeable) and have sent an email to Chuwi Support to get a replacement… its power was degrading so I figured it was time.
While it was open I realised it had an M.2 SATA drive which was replaceable and, as luck would have it, I have a space M.2 SATA 512Gb so I’ll be testing that for compatibility later today. As I understand it the RAM is not upgradable which is a shame.
My big question however, is how to replace the machine’s back plate? It was pretty firmly stuck on and it took two of us to get the thing off but that suggests it needs to be stuck back on so what adhesive do I use?
I’ve successfully upgraded my laptop/tablet’s hard drive to 500Gb so that’s sorted.
I’ve also found a reel of double-sided phone adhesive tape that might work.
All I’m waiting for now is a response from Chuwi Support… I sent them an eMail and received an automated response on Tuesday but I’ve yet to receive a reply.
