Had gemibook 14" for some time now…slow response keyboard backlight has not been addressed by chuwi…response is 1+ sec after key depresed.

Are you saying the keypress is slow to register, or the backlight is slow to come on after the keypress? If the backlight, that seems to be a purposeful thing, as every review of the GemiBook has mentioned it, my Gemibook does it, and my friends Gemibook does it.
