HeroBox N100, New installation of Win11 Pro not possible

Hello,

I need Windows 11 Pro as the operating system to standardize my PC network. Unfortunately, it is not possible to perform a new installation of Win11 Prof, not even on the hard drive that was deleted with diskpart clean, because the Win11 Home product key is automatically read “somewhere” and only the Win11 Home installation is performed.

How can I perform a new installation of Win11 Pro?

Many thanks, Asija

Serial number: as shown in the attached image
Purchased from the Chuwi store, see attached invoice

I don’t quite understand what the problem is.
You have to buy the upgrade.

To upgrade from Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro, simply change the product key in the corresponding section. Go to Settings, System, About, and then tap Change product key. Enter your Windows 11 Pro product key, and the upgrade will happen automatically.

Unfortunately, nothing runs automatically, even with a specially purchased upgrade key. That’s precisely the problem…

What stage of installation are you at ?

The “joke” is that even the upgrade doesn’t work, even when I enter an interim upgrade key published by Microsoft. Furthermore, I have a valid Win11 Pro license, which is why I want to perform a clean install, not an upgrade. And that just doesn’t work.

After only being able to reinstall Win11 Home on a deleted SSD using the pre-installation key, I wanted to upgrade to Winn11 Pro with a valid upgrade key. But that doesn’t work either, because the newly purchased upgrade key is not accepted.

You downloaded and created a USB drive using the Microsoft Media Creation Tool.
Are you saying you can’t start the installation ?
I don’t see what you’re doing; you need to provide more details.

You have to ask the person who sold you the key

Yes, of course. First, I tried reinstalling from USB, but that only allows you to reinstall Win11 Home. And upgrading to Winn11 Pro via the Control Panel doesn’t work either.

Get your Windows Pro product key: (You can buy it online or use a generic trial key if you have a business license).
Go to Start > Settings > System > Activation.

Click Change product key.

Enter your Windows Pro product key and follow the steps to update

manonegra, It gave you the steps to follow to update: did you try them?

Please don’t tell me about procedures that are common knowledge and that I have already tried. The upgrade doesn’t work, neither with the original key nor with an extra purchased key!
But even a new installation of Win11 Pro from the USB drive doesn’t work, because it only installs Win11 Home again. I’ve described this often enough now.

I have to assume that there is a fundamental error here. If the generic key published by Microsoft does not work, the problem is obviously not with Microsoft or the key I purchased.
I suspect that the Win11 Home key from the initial installation is stored somewhere in the BIOS and is reused for new installations.

I have now solved my problem.

Final working solution for the upgrade process:
Prerequisite: You need a valid upgrade key that you have purchased.

  • After restarting, log in as administrator.
  • Disconnect from the network.
  • Go to ‘System’ and select ‘Change product key or update Windows edition’ to enter the generic Microsoft key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T.
  • Once the update process has started – download progress is displayed – reconnect to the network. The download will then run through completely and the update will take place with several restarts.
  • Log in as an administrator again.
  • The activation status will logically show an error.
  • Ignore ‘Troubleshooting’ and enter the purchased product key.

That’s it!
