Linux Mint Tablet

This unit makes a great Linux Mint Tablet (Linux Mint 22 - Mate). With the N100 chip and ddr5 ram the unit is great for everyday use. My video output is 3k and no lagging with the wifi 6. The unit runs about 5c cooler then running Windows. There is however a simple trade off, the cameras don’t work and the auto rotate is not supported. But, if your using it as a simple desktop the computer, the unit is perfect, fast and problem free. The Linux kernel in Mint 22 (6.8.0-47) has most of drivers compatible with the Max. As for the cameras, they are on the low end of quality. I purchase a high end camera from Amazon and it works great out of the box on the Max. Secondly, if using the system as a desktop, I don’t need auto rotate.

Note: I have read that the new Linux kernel (6.11) will have the missing drivers.

This unit is a very powerful little computer and with the the N100 chip, Wifi 6 and ddr5 - What else is needed. I highly recommend this unit for any Linux user as a daily driver.

Nice job. Linux Mint does not appear to be optimized for tablet use. Do you use the device as a tablet with a virtual keyboard or a laptop with a real keyboard? You could check out Fedora Core 41 KDE mobile. That has the Plasma Mobile interface especially for tablets. Possibly the cameras will work as well.

My Max came with a pen and keyboard. The keys light up and the pen works great. I’ll have to test Fedora core and see what works. Thanks.
