The unmodified BIOS for the Corebook X Ryzen 5500U

After this scandal of epic proportions, I think all the unfortunate buyers of this “good laptop” with a promising price-quality ratio.

I believe that the first and minimum thing is that they provide us with the unaltered BIOS file of the CPU that our laptop actually uses.

The five-year-old Ryzen 5 5500U, based on the Zen 2 architecture, has serious vulnerabilities and exploits that need to be patched, such as “Zenbleed”, “Microcode Signature Verification”, “Sinkclose”.

Notice: Warning: Chuwi CoreBook X uses AMD Ryzen 5 5500U instead of 7430U - NotebookCheck.net News

Of course I’ve made contact. I’m writing this here so users can see it…in case they haven’t seen the news yet.

It’s been 3 days and Chuwi hasn’t responded to me.

He’s asking about a device that’s out of support; I hope you’ll let me know if you get a response.

On 03/13 they answered me, only asking me for the purchase date and the order number.
Today this statement came out from CHUWI: https://blog.chuwi.com/statement-regarding-corebook-x-and-corebook-plus/
The deadline for returns is May 31 2026.

It seems you’ve made a mistake: Valid period: From now until May 31, 2026

Yes, I didn’t look closely, sorry!

Overall, I’m satisfied with this laptop, with the 5500U processor. I just wish it didn’t have any fake names… And had adequate support.
