Advanced option bios missing

when i enter bios, i cant see the menu item advanced, what can i do to fix it?, thanks in advanced.

I only once entered Bios on my new HeroBox (J4125), and took photos of each bios screen.
There are Main/Security/Boot/Save & Exit tabs.
Why do you think there should be an Advanced tab?

I made the ā€œAdvanceā€ tab accessible by installing a 2.5" SSD in the SSD bay. Note, that in the beginning the Advance tab was not always on, even tough I didnt removed the SSD, but after a while it stayed always on.
If you want to ask me how did I think of this method to make the Advance tab available, I didnt, I only wanted to add a Samsung SSD that It was laying around, then as a bonus, the tab appeared.

Press ALT + F5 when entered in Bios.
Save Settings and reboot
Go again in Bios
All is open you can chance everything!

Thank me later!

I think you don’t need Advanced mode for this! It’s just in the normal Settings?!

I try this (ALT+F5; save; reboot)…but doesnt work!

On My Hero Book it works after the Reboot? Another Bios?

  1. What BIOS version do you have currently installed? You can usually find this information in the BIOS settings themselves or by checking your manufacturer’s website.

@strahlentechnik
as @alexcray have asked please tell us which Bios version and also which Model and serial number , you said Herobook, but this thread is about Herobox,

Sorry we were on holidays, till today. Tech told me that this model does not have advanced options, if you already tried Alt + F5,exited and enter again and still does not appear :frowning:

The Herobox mini-pc with the ASIN: B089F5SJJM and with the Advanced Bios has a problem. I unscrewed it some time ago and the two small cables leading to the antennas (WLAN Bluetooth) were torn off the circuit board. Is it possible to switch off WLAN and Bluetooth on this Herobox via this extended bios or another trick so that an external WLAN stick works properly? On some laptops there are bios options to disable the WLAN in the laptop so that a USB WLAN stick works with it. The computer is otherwise running great until today, but I can’t solder these small cables to the board, the soldering points are so small that I can’t even see where the two soldering points were where the cables to the antennas were. With LAN and Windows 11, this is still the PC I work on today, although it has no fan, it still works perfectly today, years later! And it really needs very little power, a masterstroke from you, CHUWI!

maybe if you are able to send me a picture of the cables and that space, i can show it to tech to see if they would help.

This HeroBox is currently running the whole day to work on it, I don’t have the possibility to unscrew it and document everything exactly with photos. When I have time I will do that and upload the photos. When the box is completely disassembled there is the ā€œmainboardā€ and two thin insulated wires that go to the top of the case to the two antennas for WLAN and Bluetooth. I was a bit drunk when I unscrewed the box back then and so it happened that the wires broke, directly at the solder joints on the mainboard. You can’t even see which soldering points they were soldered to and I don’t have the right tools to solder such small soldering points. Otherwise the PC works, with Windows 11 by the way. When I reinstall Windows, I have to switch the settings (it was a lot of work, especially the first time) until my HeroBox accepts a secondary Blutooth&Wlan stick via USB. It has a different chipset than the WLAN/Blutooth unit in the Hero Box, that’s the only way it worked. I use internet via LAN and the USB stick allows me to connect blutooth headphones via the PC and listen to music when it needs to be quiet in the house at night. But the HeroBox still sends and receives, presumably via the soldered joints and conductors on the circuit board, which should actually go via the two thin wires to the antennas in the top part of the housing.

When i buy a new mini PC it will be one from CHUWI because i am satisfied from my Herobox!

I appreciate your opinion and we are glad to hear, that you like our products and its running quite well, even after that issue. Thanks so much
