Hi all,
My last update on the Chuwi Larkbox X (N100) was to Windows 11, version 23H2. For a couple of weeks now, the built-in Windows Update has been prompting me to update to 25H2. I have tried this multiple times, but after downloading and installing the update and rebooting, I am taken to a blue screen with a keyboard selection. You can then choose to repair the boot, which I have also tried, as well as shutting off and restarting. After another reboot, the old version of Windows (23H2) starts, with no sign of any update. After a while, the update prompt for 25H2 reappears and the loop continues indefinitely. Do you have any idea if it is possible to update to 25H2, and if so, how to overcome these obstacles? I tried the Media Creation Tool with an ISO update from a hard drive and a flash drive, but it failed.
- Windows has a support service. You can contact support and explain the situation.
You didn’t mention how old the computer is or what version of Windows it came with from the factory.
Windows has an application to check upgrade requirements.
The original installation date was September 2023. It came with Windows 10, but was updated to Windows 11 via Windows Update. I have already contacted Windows support, who claim that this may be due to a driver conflict. I updated all the drivers, but this did not help. I used the Windows app to check the update requirements and my Chuwi matches them in all aspects, meaning I can update. The update starts and installs, but after rebooting, it goes to a blue screen with a keyboard. After another restart, it reverts to the current (not updated) version. Has anyone updated the Larkbox X to the Windows 11 version 25H2?
How did you update the drivers ?
The drivers are updated by downloading them from the Chuwi website.
Have you checked Device Manager ?
There could be several reasons.
I don’t understand why you don’t have the 24H2 update.
Drivers: ‘Update’ is not the best word here. I have just checked Device Manager to make sure there are no issues with outdated or missing drivers, and everything is fine — there are no exclamation marks.
Device Manager: Yes, I checked and everything is fine.
Regarding the 24H2 update, if I recall correctly, there was a similar issue and I abandoned the installation. At a certain point, Windows Update ceased displaying any updates. I’ve just checked and, for some reason, Windows Update shows that everything is up to date, but Winver still shows 23H2.
Sometimes it may be outdated and not show alerts.
Have you considered downloading the operating system from the Microsoft website and performing a clean install ?
You can check the Chuwi website to see if there are driver downloads available for Windows 11.
Yes, a clean installation is probably something I will have to do. Should I use the ISO file from the Microsoft website or the one in the download section on the Chuwi website? I believe the latter is not up to date. I have already downloaded all the drivers from the download section, so hopefully everything will work in the end. Thanks for your support.
