Confirmation of Fan Control Patch?

I’m waiting arrival of European 8100Y/8GB Minibook, have downloaded this fan patch/flashing instructions, and was wondering if a veteran user could confirm if this is still a viable solution for a noisy fan.

Thank you for any advice–and thank you, minih4x, for your great work.

Thanks for the tip. I’m not on facebook, but my wife is–she doesn’t know it, but now she’s joined the Chuwi Backers group

To follow up on the fan patch, have you installed it successfully?

Jake

I’m using that patch on my 8100Y 16GB model, and it works perfectly

Thank you for posting your positive results. My Minibook arrived a couple of days ago and I’m putting it through its paces. In Win10, my unpatched fan is on at all times, but at a very low level. Only when the machine is taxed does the fan really wind up, and then I can see why users have complained.

That said, I use computers for general work–not gaming, etc–and I took the advice of another user here and set the machine to “Best Battery Life” which makes the fan spin at a constant, but low rate.

It’s noticeable but not obnoxious. Still, I’m considering the SEPA fan replacement that others have suggested, if only for an even less detectable noise of constant fan.

As an aside–for battery and cpu monitoring, Serious Samurize still works on Win10. I usually run at 40C. If somebody needs my Samurize script for the Minibook, please post.
