Anyway to stop the fan from being on all the time

Got my minibook today, great little laptop. Only issue I have with it is from when you boot into windows 10 and login the fan kicks in and doesn’t go off, it’s always on and it’s quiet noisy and distracting.

Is there anyway to stop it from being on all the time. This is even when the minibook isn’t doing anything and just on my desktop screen.

Any help and advice would be appreciated. I have the Celeron Version.

Thanks for all your help.

Looking into this I haven’t managed to try this out but may help someone?

If anyone else knows of any possible fan control software that would be great.

Thought it was just the Celeron version but looks like both versions seem to have the same issue.

Maybe you can get something what you want from here.

Thanks, I will take a look at this./

On another post in this forum someone mentioned there is a BIOS upgrade which will help.

Either way as long as there is something out there then I will be very happy with my purchase.

That’s the only bad thing about the little minibook. Love it otherwise.

:upside_down_face: Yes, it will help if you upgrade the BIOS

What’s that supposed to mean?

Only trying to help find a solution.

Anyone else managed to find a way to quieten the fan?

I’m guessing by what the CHUWI management are saying a bios upgrade would do it.

Can anyone else confirm this.

Don’t want to brick my minibook however the fan noise is getting annoying now.

Thanks for your help.

HOW DO YOU DO THIS EXACTLY?

With BIOS upgrade, TDP is reduced which means CPU runs slower and tempereture is lower as a result. It will fix fan issue but not on a direct professional solution. Try other members modded EC firmware to keep fans off on low temperatures, it makes difference to me

What was the original TDP and what is it now? I have unlocked my BIOS and want to make sure I’m within limits.
