How to flash the correct BIOS for CoreBook X (Ryzen 5500u) - Step-by-Step Guide

Hi everyone,

After contacting Chuwi support regarding the CPU discrepancy (Ryzen 5500u showing as 7430u), they provided the official BIOS files to fix the system information and hardware identification.

Since the included .bat file might not work for everyone, here is the manual method that worked perfectly for me using the Command Prompt (CMD).

Preparation:

1. Connect your charger: Never perform a BIOS update on battery power.

2. Download the BIOS files: You can get them from the official support link here: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZy7tt5ZOpYGdx7GjDVsyfLQYhedtbjmFS7X

3. Extract the ZIP: Extract all files into a local folder (e.g., C:\BIOS).

Flashing Steps:

1. Open the Start Menu, type “cmd”, right-click it, and select “Run as Administrator”.

2. Navigate to your BIOS folder using the cd command. For example:

cd C:\Users\YourUsername\Downloads\AB525_V00.01_0005_20260325\BIOS

3. Once you are inside the folder, copy and paste the following command and press Enter:

AFUWINx64.exe AB525_V00.01_0005_20260325.bin /P /B /N /X

4. Wait: The process will erase, write, and verify the new firmware. Do not touch anything until it finishes.

5. Restart: Once completed, restart your laptop.

Important: Post-Update Step

After the first reboot, it is highly recommended to reset the BIOS to its factory defaults to ensure system stability:

1. Enter BIOS (press F2 during boot).

2. Go to the Save & Exit tab.

3. Select Restore Defaults (or Load Optimal Defaults).

4. Select Save Changes and Exit.

I hope this helps the community!

Hi, here’s a good guide for updating the BIOS.

Always read this comment; you should always verify:
that the BIOS file is for your device model.

It might be the same device model, but from one year to the next, the BIOS hardware may have changed or been updated, so the BIOS file isn’t the same.

Thank you so much!!! nttassani

I dared to flash the BIOS and it works perfectly :+1:

Hello. Could you please explain what’s the benefit of this firmware and correct processor detection? Did anything work better?

Well… the engineers at Emdoor Digital, the manufacturer that does this kind of “spoofing” of Chuwi processors, could answer that for you… Look, I asked Chatgpt the same question, but with a different approach: What would be the drawbacks of using a modified BIOS to display a newer CPU instead of the actual one?

You can ask the employees here: Emdoor Digital | LinkedIn

Great job. Thank you very much. Everything works fine.
