How to Install Display Driver AND Adrenalin Edition Software
Run the normal installation of the latest Adrenalin Edition driver (old Catalyst)
This will fail, but create the full directory in C:\AMD\
Launch Device Manager
Go to the graphics card and update the driver:
- AMD Radeon RX Vega (yes, it’s good, even if it’s a Vega M GL)
- Update the driver
=> Browse desktop
=> Choose from a list of available drivers (Be careful not to make a mistake, do not search directly for the driver at this time !!)
=> Under the panel offering the cards, Click on “Disc provided” at the bottom
=> Search in “C:\AMD\AMD-Software-Installer\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF”
And there, we search for “AMD Radeon RX Vega”, it’s directly the right one !!
- Pass the warning… Install and reboot !
At this point, if you don’t want Adrenalin software, you can stop here.
To install the Adrenalin Edition Software
Launch the software:
- AnWave-2024-5.42.15.24-Windows-x64.exe
=> Found here: Releases · SimonMacer/AnWave · GitHub
- In both “GPU Driver Path”
C:\AMD\AMD-Software-Installer\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF
- Click on “install”
- Click on “AMD Radeon Software Customize Setup”
- “File Name:” The “Delete” button
- Top: “Open File” button and select the AMD installer exe file (the big exe on the AMD site, the one you launch and fail)
Ex: whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-24.9.1-win10-win11-vega-polaris.exe
- Further down, in “Installation option”, check “Clean Radeon Panel install” and uncheck the others
- (!) Important: In the “Install Profile” drop-down list
- Choose: “[W11] Radeon Control Only”
=> then “Apply”
- Click on the “Install” button at the bottom
Let it go until the end
It’s OK, the latest Adrenalin Edition Software is installed.
