Got as a second-hand one.
At first everything works well. However after several days of not using it, there is a problem with the keyboard.
As I’m using linux, I tried to inspect the problem using evtest and wev, and this is my conclusion.
The esc key is malfunctioning. When I press it, nothing happens. But when I don’t press it, sometimes it acts by itself and keeps held down. Anyway, its behavior is not related to whether I press it.
It unrelated to linux, because the problem starts at power on. It enter BIOS automatically, and a dialog asking me whether to exit keeps appearing and disappearing, which I believe is the same as keeping esc down, and highly likely a hardware problem.
Is there any way to solve this? Would a random computer repairman do some help?
Only if they know how to fix a keyboard line. From your explanation, it seems like either the controller or the membrane has failed. It can range from merely simple stuck water to a really broken board. You can try your luck, usually there are repairmen skilled enough for this. I had similar problem previously and the repairman is able to at least give a temporary fix, but it’s not a guarantee. The only guaranteed solution is to replace the whole keyboard as it’s not mechanical.
I contacted a few repairmen and they all say the whole keyboard has to be replaced, even though I stated it’s likely a contact problem. And they don’t have parts for this model.
Actually I don’t expect an average repairing company would get parts for such a niche product.
And is it possible to get official repairment or replacement of parts for such a second-hand product of unknown origin? I contacted them on the official site, no reply yet.
And do you think it’s possible to disassemble it and try to do some tweaking by myself? Maybe I will try if other ways are impossible.
Give me the serial number i will ask if we have the keyboard.
I think it’s Q512G20050574
It needs to be handchecked, explanation won’t work. I don’t recommend doing self tweaking, as it may only worsen the condition. You certainly don’t have the required skill. My local repairman plays around with the electric signal paths when fixing mine, which I also don’t have the knowledge for, something like this:
But if you insist, I won’t stop you.
I asked and currently we dont have stock of the keyuboard
