I have Freebook 2023 i3-1215u and it is very good laptop-transformer, but only disadvantage is noisy fan because it is working too much.
Don’t get me wrong, the fan itself is ok, what is not ok – fan control depending on temperature. The fan activates at too low temperature on CPU.
On my previous Freebook n100 the fan turn on at 50-60 deg.C. (as Aida64 shows), but new 1215u version turn on fan already at 40 deg.C.
So the fan is working almost constantly. I don’t need fan working on such low temperature. I often use my laptop as tablet for night book reading, and that fan trying to cool down CPU from 40 to 39 deg. for a few minutes after any light task is very annoying.
Cool down from 50 to 49 is much easier than from 40 to 39 deg.C.
So it would be great if trip point to turn on/off fan would be 50-60 deg.C. instead of 40 deg.C.
The settings in BIOS for fan control doesn’t work. So I don’t see a way to solve the problem except on your side. And this is very important issue, because many people choose such laptops for quietness. Solving this problem will improve customer attitudes and increase sales.
My Freebook i3-1215 (which has this issue) has BIOS version:
ZW-BI-135-S105ALWR110-ADAB0D-157-C ; Date: 11/03/2023
S/N: ZFreeBCY6H231100329
My Freebook n100 (which does NOT have this issue) has BIOS version:
DNN20 V1.06 ; Date: 09/13/2023
S/N: ZFreeBCY5H231200219
Dear @Management , please provide a way to solve this issue. Maybe BIOS update or driver thermal/fan setting or something else.
Regards.
