BIOS Update Request — CHUWI CoreBook Air (AMD Ryzen 5 6600H)

Dear CHUWI Support Team,

I would like to know whether a BIOS update newer than version 6.07 is available for my unit.

Device details:

  • Model: CHUWI CoreBook Air
  • Serial Number: SCoBAiYZ1H251201570
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 6600H
  • RAM: 16 GB LPDDR5
  • Storage: 512 GB SSD
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro (25H2, build 26200)
  • Current BIOS: 6.07 (AMI Aptio)

Reason for request:
LatencyMon analysis indicates CPU power management behaviour (Cool’n’Quiet / Core Performance Boost transitions) is contributing to DPC latency under load. A BIOS update addressing power management or NVMe compatibility would be appreciated. Also the driver you provide in drivers section at support are for RADEON 680M which is not the GPU this laptop has.

If a newer BIOS version exists for this unit, could you please provide the download link or flash instructions?

Chuwi is unlikely to provide a BIOS update to modify DPC latency. NVMe compatibility is probably fine, but I have noticed the Insyde BIOS that Chuwi uses generally does not like more than one UEFI boot record.

On a side note, if your trying to squeeze performance at the DPC level, why bother with a Ryzen 5 CPU at all? Also what application are you using that’s causing so many state transitions? When the CPU is under load, it’s under load and should not be power state thrashing unless the app is doing something very strange.

I was using Process Lasso PRO 18.2.3.42 with Bitsum Highest Performance but i’m now chaging some settings of power plan and test it to see if the problems disappear.

As for NVMe SSD, the problem that the component was not well attached to the slot. I opened the machine, took the SSD, clean the connectors with alcohol isopropyl and put it back now well attached to the slot and the problems disappear.
Now i’m going after the iGPU problem. :slight_smile: And i still have the case opened.

And i will accept your opinion, and i will write to support@chuwi.com to request a BIOS.

I weep for you my friend. If there is no hard use case for Windows, give Linux a go; your system will instantly have longer battery life and not hog your CPU to spy and send data back to Microsoft.
