Hi,
This is more of a pre-sales tech query, so I do not have a serial number and can’t download drivers.
I might consider buying CoreBook X Laptop 12thGen i3-1220P Processor. It’s available on my region specific Amazon and directly sold by Chuwi regional office in my country.
While it comes with Windows 11 Home, I might prefer a clean install of Windows 11 Pro on it.
So in order to detect the NVMe SSD, would I need to slipstream Intel RST drivers in the installer?
Does this Intel CPU and associated chipset need Intel RST drivers to detect NVME SSD?
Normally, Windows 10 or 11 can be installed without any additional drivers. I’ve bought three Chuwi laptops in the past year and installed Windows 11. For drivers afterward, you can use Snappy. Download and run it, as it doesn’t require installation. Before reinstalling, be sure to download the Wi-Fi drivers from Intel and put them on a USB stick, as they are NOT included with Windows 11.
Thank you for your reply. Certain Intel 12 - 13 Gen CPUs require RST drivers for getting to work with NVMe Storage. .
I checked someone else’s S/N from this forum posts for Corebook X with i3 1220p and downloaded drivers for Corebook x from support site and it does not list RST drivers. Looks like this CPU does not need it
Anyhow if I buy it with pre-installed Windows 11, I will use DISM to extract all third-party drivers and save them on a pen drive and then only proceed with clean install. So hopefully I should be fine.
Thanks again.
Best regards.
I understand. In fact I prefer if WiFi drivers are not part of Windows 11. Installation remains offline and then allows me to use the OOBE bypassnro trick to create a local account which is otherwise not possible once you go online.
