Has your computer been discharged completely?
Does it turn some light when you press? or connect the charger?
I have a somewhat similar problem. Gemibook pro model Q512G201202543. Not sure how old it is, but it has been very little used. It powers up, keyboard flashes, but stays up only for a few seconds before apparently powering off. It does not get as far as BIOS, no splash screen. And the caps-lock light etc does not come on, so I think it is fairly early in startup sequence. Wondering if there is anything I can do to save it.
But when it does turn off stay like that even if you press the keys again?
Also there is a combination of keys in F1.F12 that maybe one is deactivating the keyboard there are some images on it
Yes. It stays off. I think you could be on to something . Key F1 may disable the screen (it is marked LCD). And as I said I am getting nothing on the screen. So it is hard to debug what is going on.
But hitting F1 after powering on appears to have no effect. So not sure that is the issue. Usually the laptop appears to power off after a few seconds but not always sometimes it stays powered.
I can tell if power is on by tapping F5.
But I never see anything on the screen. Without a hdmi port I cannot try an external monitor. Attaching a usb keyboard makes no difference.
Without tech seeing, i have two suggestions
Take to a repair shop and see what might it be
Or send to repair
It does not have an HDMI output but it does have a video output through the USB C port so it would be possible to connect to a monitor through a HUB
It could be a power or motherboard failure. If you can, try disconnecting the battery and holding the power button to reset.
Thanks - worth a try. I already disconnected the battery to check voltage so can try anything like that.
Tried that but no luck. Power is getting somewhere. The charging light comes on. I think the battery is charging. The 2 red LEDs on the M.2 drive come on and stay on. I don’t think I see any other LEDs. The little fan which I assume is over the CPU does not budge. Not clear if it’s getting power. May be thermally activated, but I though it might jump a bit on power up. The keyboard backlighting flashes on power up ONLY when on battery power. Not when charger attached. I don’t recall if this is normal behaviour. Right now, looks like it might be the screen so the external monitor might be worth a try, will try to get my hands on a hub.
Update - attaching an external monitor did not yield anything. No display output at all detected. So I am guessing a major failure in the power delivery circuit. Anybody got schematics ?
