I got Linux Mint 19.2 up and running on the Chuwi Hi12. This wasn’t difficult at all. Unfortunately the touch screen is not supported.
Did anybody get this issue solved, knows about the missing driver, and in addition can explain how to?

Our products are designed for Microsoft Windows system, and based on this operating system for driver adaptation, users have the freedom to install the third party operating system, but we can not provide technical support for the third party system, please understand.

Nevertheless, since Chuwi Hi12 is a standards based Intel architectue computer, let’s find out if Forum members at Chuwi Forum can contribute to the touch screen driver for Hi12 running Linux Mint 19.2 question.
I managed to put touch screen to work on Ubuntu-MATE in a Hi10Plus.
Open a terminal and type:
$ dmesg | grep ‘silead_ts’
And paste the output here.
It depends on n which touch screen is used and which kernel version are you using.
So until you share now information is your installation users can help you with getting touch working…
