2.4 Problem:
Hello Chuwi!
Like the title says, my left speaker is not working on Linux Mint.
I’ve found this forum which somehow points to a software related issue for those laptops on Linux: https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxmint/comm … peaker_in/
Something like pins not properly connected… I’m a noob

In the System settings > Sounds, testing left and right speaker outputs on the same right speaker - or possibly the left speaker test is on the sub woofer should this one be placed on the right side on the laptop…
The sound output is good via BT airpods and the audio jack. In Windows, all is fine. So it can not be a physical problem.
I’ve tested things with alsa-tools-gui and hdajackretask to see if I could connect the left speaker with a unconnected pins. Here are the results:
There are 4 speakers on the laptop, 2 right ones and 2 left ones. On each side, there is a front and a back speaker.
Here are the woking Pin ID (the ones that accepts Internal speaker, Internal speaker LFE and Internal speaker Back) ;
-
0x16
-
0x17 - Only one active without any changes
-
0x1d
-
0x26
-
If they are all overridden and disconnected I have no sound at all.
-
If I activate any of them and leave the other deactivated, and set the to either internal speaker, Internal speaker LFE or Internal speaker Back, there is no differences. Only the 2 right speaker (front and back) get activated.
-
If I activated them all and choose either internal speaker, Internal speaker LFE or Internal speaker Back, still only the 2 right speaker (front and back) get activated.
At this point, I don’t know what else to try.
If anyone from the Chuwi support team could help me, that’d be awesome.
Many thanks in advance for your time.
Best,
Benoit
