I have been trying to connect my minibook with an external monitor over a USB-C Dock. The dock supports USB-C Alt Mode for video output, but when I connect it to the laptop nothing happens.
The dock is a Lenovo Universal USB-C Dock model “40AY”. I have tried different USB-C cables (which work with other computers), with also different HDMI cables and different monitors. Nothing seems to work.
I’m running Debian 13 “Trixie” with kernel version 6.12.57.
Here is the dmesg output:

I have tried both USB-C ports in my laptop, and I have tried the dock with other devices and it seems to work. The dock says that it supports both Thunderbolt and USB-C Alt Mode.
Note: I have seen other posts here where they mention that sometimes it works with one port but not the other, or with one cable but not others. I have tried both ports, and multiple cables, and I have used these cables to connect the dock to other computers successfully. Also, the USB-C Dock firmware is up to date, I’ve updated it recently.
It looks like the closest issue is the post in here USB-C is not working with external monitors - #19 by ChuwiESnotactive describing how some monitors just don’t show up as a monitor in dmesg (like here).
