My N150 also makes an awful noise when plugged in and at 100%. It sounds like an old HDD spinning in there. I just got it and am wondering if there is a fix or should I consider replacing it?

Return it and ask for a refund. Then buy another one.
Unfortunately, I’d lose money, if I go that route. I was hoping for either a fix or a straight return/replace.
Just straight return it.
We do not think there should be a problem with the noise, at tleast we tried them , if the computer work fine, no need to be worried as being a small laptop is normal there is some noise when working. But if you want to return it, is also ok
I think this is the same problem as some minibook N100 and freebook N100 and now minibook n150.
Because of the “not very high quality” power system on the board, it makes noise in this mode of operation. This is quite a common problem(in my opinion) and if you even replace the laptop with another one it might be the same.
The only thing I know is that FreeBook with i3 has a different power system (there is a 3-cell battery, not 2 and “from the factory” goes charging PD at 20v, there are no problems with sound.
