Linux will let you do a “pseudoinstallation” to let you get rid off any unwanted surprises. Once you have tried it will never go back to this Windows nightmare they dare to call OS.
I installed yesterday on an old Notebook the Ubuntu Linux Lite (resources are scarce on the little one) and now everything works perfectly well, not a cough, not a problem. Runs better than when new.
Booted beautifully from a USB, and the setup has a moron-proof assistant through all the process.
