Even though it is often said in reviews that the n100 wouldn’t be suitable for gaming, play some Games on my Minibook X from time to time.
Of course not new ones demanding high end hardware and some tweaks are needed.
So i thought it would be nice to have a thread where we could share our gaming experiences, tips and tweaks.

The games which i have found to be best suitable for this device, are Unreal Engine 3 ones, like Dishonored, Mirrors Edge, Bioshock, Remember me and the likes.
I also tried the first Assassins Creed. In general you could say pc native games from the PS3/Xbox360 era are best suited, as well as PS2 and Gamecube Emulation.
Aslo most of them have pretty good controller support.
I play them on 1280x800, they still look crisp while saving some performance.

Also i found out that both dxvk and dgvoodoo (you can only use one of both per game) can make a huge difference in performance for games running on DirectX9 natively.
For those UE3 games i use dgvoodoo to wrap dx9 to dx12 and see a huge performancelift of about 100%
Often meaning the games jump from unstable 25-45 fps to a stable 60. Depends on the game of course.

Also i found LosslessScaling to be usable on the Minibook X.
For i now i didn’t really need it and would only recommend to use it for upscaling but not frame generation, as framegeneration is in most cases propably to costly for the n100.

Agreed. I have the N100 model and when Windows 11 was installed, 70 FPS in WoW was possible. Now that Arch Linux is installed (runs so much cooler, the fans almost never turn on), I run Steam and play Guild Wars Reforged and Skyrim with decent frames and decent settings. The key is the hardware support for the Vulkan API and subsequent translation layers as @Robi pointed out via dxvk. I have not tried dgvoodoo yet, but get great fps on older titles like Battlefield 1942.

Minibook x intel n150. Tekken 7 идёт прекрасно (графика на минимум, разрешение 1280*720), forza horizon 4 идёт на минимальных настройках без апскейлера, разрешение 1280720, atomic heart уже тормозит (1024700 fps20-25). Crysis 1 - тормозит, а crysis 2 и 3 идёт нормально 25-30fps. Но всё в разрешении 1280*720. В разрешении 1920*1200 идут игры до 2012г.

I didn’t expect to be able to game much (if at all) on this computer. I bought it because it had the small netbook form factor I’ve been looking for since my Asus EEE Netbook bought the dust back in 2016. I’m a big guy, so having a small computer on the plane or traveling is an absolute must, I made the mistake of getting a behemoth 15" widescreen laptop once. No more of that nonsense. I’ve had the minibook for almost two years now, and I bought it for my travel/teaching computer, I’ve used it almost daily since, both in tablet and laptop mode.

For more modern games, I’ve adjusted display settings, and I have had no problems playing any of the mass effect games (legendary edition included), and all dragon age games work too (with the exception of Veilguard, but that game was…well, I won’t get into that here). Skyrim plays great on it as well, but that’s hardly a modern game any longer.

The emulation works great for anything up to PS2. PS3 games and higher systems are just never going to work. Gamecube games work great, with the exception of Eternal Darkness which had some significant sound issues.

I’ve played the heck out of the old legacy of kain games on the system, as well as the new one (which, like veilguard, isn’t something I’ll get into here).

I play a lot of retro games through both Gog and Steam, and I’ve had no problems running them.

Oh, honorable mention, with all settings turned WAY WAY down, would be the BATTLETECH game from Harebrained Schemes. By all rights it shouldn’t work on the system, but since I play for the game for almost everything besides graphics, with everything turned down it worked great. I played the heck out of it in the middle of the night when my wife and I were fostering a baby. The game played better than Terraforming Mars (the board game through Steam), which is a resource hog oddly.

Oh, also, all digital board games play pretty dang well in tablet mode. My wife and I also play a ton of boardgamearena.com games, and I highly recommend any of those on the system.
