Ubook Pro - device ID/name for physical windows touch button

Hi,

Does anybody the device ID ore name of the windows button (right side of the screen) to find it in the device manager. I want do disable it since I don’t need it and it’s anoying for writing.

I guess the simplest way would be to put a sticker over the top of it.

Maybe this will work for you

  1. Add a new REG_BINARY type entry called Scancode Map to the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout\
  2. Make its value equal to 00000000000000000300000000005BE000005CE000000000
  3. To enable the button again, delete the entry. It might also work by changing the value to zero or empty.

Nice share! This will save me so many annoying trips to the Start Screen while reading!

I never get why manufacturers put these buttons on Windows tablets, especially when they can be so easily paired with a keyboard. In laptop-mode the Windows-button is right there on the keyboard, and in tablet mode the Task Bar with Start Button is only a swipe away (or can even be permanently displayed). The extra button doesn’t really contribute to more convenience, but the placing on the Ubook Pro makes it even worse if you ask me. Yet another stupid thing we can thank Apple for, I guess…
