UBook X i5 10210Y Stylus Support

  • Purchased from EU Chuwi Store last week.
  • Serial Number: YUbokXCW3H240102615

Hi there,
I just bought this tablet with H8 stylus as in the store it says that H7 is not anymore compatible:

however, I didn’t notice H8 was just capacitive stylus (dumb me). I thought the main difference was in the pressure sensitivity but that it was supported as pen.

Anyways, I would like to get a properly working stylus with this tablet but I’m not sure whether or not any other non-capacitive stylus would be supported. As the tablet seems to have changed it’s hardware at some point it’s a bit hard for me to be sure which stylus (if any) would work. The internet references get a little unclear to me for this exact tablet.

When it arrived, the first thing I did was to install Ubuntu on it. This is what I see in settings:

There is “Wacom Tablet” menu, and in there it seems like it has support for stylus as “Chuwi Minibook X”. However, from reading the forums, I find that the Chuwi Minibook X doesn’t have support for stylus (other than capacity stylus, of course).

Could anyone help me to clarify if there are stylus compatible with this tablet and which ones? I would really need to get stylus working properly on this.

Thanks!

For Ubook X, H7(is stylus) can work installing a patch, but its not 100% sure, as sometimes it gives some trouble. Normally when users install it can use it.
MiniBook X does not support stylus for sure.

If you installed Linux in that case we really cannot guarantee and we do not provide software for linux so we do not know if it will work under Linux :frowning:

Thanks for the reply. I think there’s a chance for it to work as it’s purely a software issue and not hardware then. I’ll try to get someone to lend me a Surface Stylus to try, as it should be compatible with H7 as of my understanding and should be easier to find someone with it.

We are not sure about that, but you can try it and see if it could work.

Just for the record:
I tried an alternative surface compatible stylus and couldn’t get it to work in linux still.
I reinstalled windows to test and it seems to be working fine after installing the patch. I didn’t do much testing on performance and stuff, but I could comfortably use it on Whiteboard.

edit: just booted Linux again and stylus is working fine with pressure sensitivity. I have no idea why it started working just like that…

thank you for the update

Good morning, can you tell me which stylus you use??, I have the same tablet and the same problem and I need to buy a stylus that allows me to take notes.

Hi, sorry for the delay. Didn’t receive the notificación.

The stylus I bought Is https://amzn.eu/d/dm7Elem. It is still working perfectly.

Hope this helps
