Chuwi GemiBook, Cost-effective productivity laptop

On my side is also no track possible with 17track.net. But I have get an answer form Chuwi at aliexpress.
“Dear,
Good day.
It is holiday for the nation now, there is no human resource at work (including the shipping company). We will resume work one week later, would you mind talking about this issue then? Sorry for the inconvenience.”

But there are no holidays in Spain. This is how I feel jerked off.

So mine has now left the UK and hopefully will land in Ireland in the next 24 hours. While it says shipped with GLS on the Aliexpress store its actually shipping with DHL. I hoep by Monday close of business I have the machine.

Since thursday last week no movement of my shipment in Spain - certainly due to chinese holidays… :face_vomiting:

It took the Amercians three days to reach the moon… it took Chuwi 20 days to NOT ship a laptop to Austria… :ok_hand:

Ok folks got my Chuwi Gemibook today. Ordered on the 16th September. Initial response is of relief to have got it. Pretty pleased with the laptop, exceptional for the price I paid which was €259 considering the absolute crap that you would get for that price in high street shops. Shipping times need to be better. Hope all that’s waiting get their books soon. Will post back a more detailed review.

So far so good though the charging brick is no good as they did not send the appropriate UK plug adaptor. The adaptor slides off and you can slide on UK/Australia etc but they sent me the wrong one. Apart from that I am hoping a 45w Type C will work and I have ordered one online. I am still blown away by the build quality and screen particularly around the price point. It’s a beautiful machine to look at.

Quality control of these laptops is poor, as one might expect from chuwi by browsing these forums. I received my gemibook with a defective touch pad, so I can’t control my laptop. Don’t be deceived by the low price and nice screen. By buying this laptop you are taking the quality control lottery.

After 24 days my Gemibook finally arrived.

First impression: great device, decent built quality, superb screen. Though a faster CPU would be nice, it is a real bargain…

After turning it on and finishing the windows 10 setup process I installed Malwarebyte and ran a scan. 11 entrys were found (traces from LUDASHI etc… but nothing too serious) so I decided to do a fresh install. The stick created with “windows media creation tool” instantly booted from USB, installing windows from scratch went off flawlessly.

After successful installation of Windows I finished the setup by running the
“Intel Driver & Support Assistant” (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html) to install the latest matching intel wifi and video driver. Followed by the “Software-Installations-Utility für Intel” (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/de/product/1145) all but one unknown entries in device manager were gone.

The only driver missing is the

  • PCI data collection and signal processing controller

So please admins, create a own group for the Gemibook and provide a link to the latest drivers for this little great laptop - it deserves it

I also get my Gemibook today, ordered at Sept 19th on aliexpress with shipping from Spain. But I also ordered a map to this book with extra charge. But the map was not included. So I have maked a disput on aliexpress,

So this is a very bad service from Chuwi.
