Chuwi HI12 android flashing issue

Hello,

When trying to refresh Android using Intel Flash tool I get an error at 26% - tablet starts in android fastboot mode and it gets recognized by Windows as Cherry Trail CR device

Ps There is no serial number at the back of the device, there is only model CWI520, device is discovered by Intel tool as DnX SN: EMMCEFB13145

I’ve tried this version of Intel app to flash the device but it couldn’t see Chuwi 12 for some reason and also it looks like Android image is gone from previous post and I downloaded one from other thread but I think it might not be the correct one. Could you also share Android 5 image for Chuwi 12 again?

Did you ever get this fixed, I’ve just run into the same problem and can’t find anyone that’s had any actual help from Chuwi!

Unfortunately not. Chuwi asks for serial number to fix the device remotely, god knows how. I gave up :frowning:

Never give up… I got it fixed! Long story short, despire the Intel Android Drivers 1.10.0 appearing to install, they don’t… you’ll notice a ‘1’ appearing after each line in the installer dialog box. That means failure and should be ‘0’. Restarting Windows with driver signing off (option 7 on advanced startup) allowed them to install. After that, the flashing worked as expected.

P.S. I had to do it with an Intel laptop, my AMD system wouldn’t flash it either… this happens with my android TV boxes too.

Hello, I’ve picked up this old thread in order to flash my Hi 12 with Android. I managed to let the flash tool show the Hi12 and it starts flashing as well. But at 25% it stopps and gives the following information: [Port 1/1] Running ‘Wait for device with status pos on port 1/1’ command
After a minute of waiting the flashing fails.
The Hi12 shows the Android robot with an open flap and also NORMAL BOOT with a green rectangle arround. What have I to do in order to finnish the flash procedure successfully?

Got it! I was tracked by the driver-seems-to-be-installed-but-does-not-issue.
Now I’ve got the next problem: Flashing Android cleans up the whole drive. During installation of Windows I can’t see anny drives. I tried to install a Linux derivate (ZorinOS) and saw an unused drive of about 48 GB. Why isn’t the windows installer able to see this drive?

Fixed it: WIN 11 installer doesn’t recognize the drive but the WIN 10 installer does.

Perhaps not all drivers are installed correctly. You have to install the drivers as administrator. So you have to open the shell app as an administrator.
