Constant 100% CPU utilization

Hi!

I just got my N100 minibook x a couple of days ago. I bought it from Amazon.
Serial:
ZZMinBXHY4H240701531

I’m seeing constant 100% CPU utilization in Windows Task Manager. The systems seems to be working ok (some hang ups but maybe that’s just Windows 11? First time with it.) so just wondering if this is expected within this sytstem.

It depends on the kind of use you give to it. Maybe you can try to uninstall so apps not useful or see what is creating such work on the computer.

So far we do not have many complaints about this. So we do not see that would be a problem.

You can still try it before 14 days passed since you bought it, if its not ok, you can return it.

@jaap

The CPU is at 100% on a fresh install on a fresh boot, no programs running, just Windows. If this is not ok then i should look into returning but i’d like to confirm that this is not intended behaviour since i have to cover the returning costs.

Проверьте его на вирусы вы явно не на те сайты заходили глубокое сканирование а они у вас есть 100 %

Could you tell the top 3 of the processes using the cpu?

And what do you mean by a “fresh install”?

Usually when we have 100% CPU all the time, it-s a bug on Windows Native antivirus that runs using max cpu.

I don’t have the minibook right now but usually it’s just the Windows System Idle Process at the top, maybe with Edge browser opened it jumps to the top but when no apps are running the System Idle Process is the top process consuming CPU.

By a fresh install i mean the device just as it came from the box. I always saw 100% CPU usage. I installed updates to see if any driver update could fix the issue but no luck.

Do you have any idea how to fix it without disabling it? I I would like to keep windows security running.

It showed 100% CPU utilization out of the box, with no apps installed. Could i try reinstalling Windows? Can you provide a Windows image and drivers for trying a fresh installation?

That’s a good plan.

If you don’t get the image in this thread, Open a new one and put your request in the topic and the s/n in the content.

Cheers, Jaap.

Thanks Japp, will try with that!

Thanks! Will try to reinstall and followup here

Tried with reinstalling and figured something up. The CPU usage spikes when connecting to a wifi network.

Seems to be a a Windows issue, tried with Ubuntu and Kubuntu and didn’t see the same issue.

Could it be a driver/software issue?

Is this a Windows update? That can take quite some CPU load. In addition looking at the frequency it seems you did not enable Perfomance in your power settings.

Windows update can take quite some time to finish. Especially when the system is not in performance mode.
