PLS HELP ME. MY BACKLIT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AND CANNOT BE TURNED ON ANYMORE. I KEEP ON TRYING AND TRYING TO SPAM FN + F5 BUT NOTHING HAPPENS.
You mean the keyboard light?
Maybe @manonegra222 would know how to solve it?If not i will ask tech
You must explain if you have carried out any operating system installation process or have touched anything in the Bios. Without information we cannot seek solutions. An accurate diagnosis is impossible without information.
Indeed,
Issue started when? After and Windows update?
Any new software installed just before backlit stoppped?
When you turn on your laptop, does backlit blinks at least once?
Only with more details it’s possible to try help to find a solution.
i asked tech anyways, they told me if the FN + F5 or just F5 alone does not make it work, it could be a hardware problem either the keys or motherboard. But CoyoteFert and Manonegra are right ,is possible there is another way to solve it knowing how did that happen.
I got my Corebook X turned on to test today.
When it turns on, before booting, backlit blinks. If your laptop is not blinkning the backlit by the time it’s turned on, it could be a hardware failure, either backlit itself, or a flat cable damaged.
If laptop backlit blinks when turned one before booting etc, then, it can be some software issue ( which would be easier to fix maybe with driver update and restoring laptop to a previous saved point , etc.)
hi, i wasn’t able to reply because i was too busy, but it turned on right away for a few days. however, it just turned off right now and i can’t turn it on anymore. i never changed anything in my bios nor i updated my windows version.
so its possible it may be a hardware problem. Where do you live, in which country? Is your computer still under warranty? (less than one year old)
I live in the Philippines and yes my laptop is less than one year old.
Did you buy in ecommerce platform? or in chuwi.com?
i bought at a local store in the philippines offering chuwi laptops. its called ‘Laptop Factory’. I think their warranty for their laptops only lasts for a month.
i will ask here, if we can do something about it, if you could send it to HK to repair it,
i would like to ask you, if having the backlight is super important? Because we have some delay in Hong Kong repair warehouse, as lets say they have been a month on holidays and there were less people working during that time ,it was their Chinese New year. So i recommend you not to send it for now, because until situation gets normal maybe after a month. Specially if you need to work with the laptop.
Hello,
This is just a shot, but from what I remember, keyboard and the backlit have two different connectors to the mainboard. it may be a bad contact in the backlit flat cable.
- While seemingly obvious, it’s essential to ensure the brightness controls are not set to minimum. Look for dedicated brightness keys (usually function keys with sun icons) or use the slider in your operating system’s settings.
how do i access the slider in the os
@coyotefert maybe can know about the slider
Hello,
There is no slider for CHUWI ones. It would usually be present in the Windows Mobility Center, but in case of CHUWI, no special widget/app added for controlling backlit.
If you click Windows Key and search for “Mobility Center”, you should see :
But as said, CHUWI devices have no block in there for backlit setup as DELL ones per example.
