it’s really work , thanks Mufler
OK so I’ve had some success from Chuwi support but it’s not yet solved
They sent me a bios from 2021 to install via a batch file. This is my reply to support after running it
OK it’s not fixed, but I have some further information for fault diagnostic
Firstly I had to change a file name to get the batch file to run as the batch file was looking for the wrong filename - em04_g8320xxxxxxxx (the last digits for the date was wrong) I changed these to what it was looking for and the batch file ran and installed, it rebooted with sound and 6gb ram showing - hurrah! 2021 bios in place!
However windows immediately said it needed to reboot to complete update, i rebooted and came back with the original fault…
Turned off auto updates just in case.
Installed the patch again, rebooted…
Booted up with sound and showing 6gb ram however the same problem with the update notification (see attached screenshot) this is shown immediately on boot up and the reboot brings back the original problem.
I’ve tried running the batch file, rebooting, running the batch file again then rebooting however every time the system boots the subsequent reboot knocks it out again and replaces the 2021 bios with 2023…
I managed to view the bios between reboots (directly after the batch file installed) I’ve attached that screenshot also
The following process is important.
I installed the ‘fix’ and rebooted and I didn’t allow it to boot in to windows
I went straight in to the bios to check the date - it showed as the old one from 2021 (which is great!)
I then pressed ‘save and reset’ - it rebooted and once again I prevented it from booting to windows i viewed the bios again the bios showed the 2023 (the bad one)
This shows that Windows wouldn’t appear to have anything to do with this firmware changing from the 2021 to the 2023 version now, the bad one is stored somewhere and overwrites the good one on boot since it never booted to windows.
Can the old (working 2021) bios be re-dated or simelar to force the system to believe that it is the latest version so it keeps it OR can the 2023 version be purged from the system?
The problem is ongoing… I look forward to your response
Hi,
I had exactly the same issue, flashing the Chuwi support BIOS bring my 6 Go back, but everytime it auto rolled back to the wrong Zhiwei 8320 V0.6 MicroFirmware with 3Go,
I solved it by manually desinstalling the MicroFirmware Zhiwei 0.6 in the windows devices manager with the “remove the driver file from my computer” option checked,
then restart and flashing the good BIOS a last time and it never roll back again…
and now I have a “default” system MicroFirmware (no Zhiwei 8320 V0.6 anymore) in windows devices manager without any error.
Cheers!
You legend! Thank you I uninstalled it as you said via device manager, didn’t reboot, ran the bios batch file chuwi support provided and rebooted! 3 reboots later it’s still working. I’m curious to know if I can turn windows updates back on yet…
Thanks pal
You’re welcome, happy to hear it helped you.
On my side windows update is still on, I also got the last 22H2 cumulative installed few days ago without any trouble, I will just in the future seek and refuse any optional/strange “Firmware” (or any hardware) update on this tablet and only stick to official windows or MS updates.
I contacted Chuwi support and got a file with a .bat executable that flashed the firmware to version 7. got 6 GB back but still no audio device installed. Tried the BIS from this forum. Flashed version 5. Get 6 GB but no audio device.
Is there a setting in the BIOS to enable the sound card. I searched “advanced settings” but found nothing.
