A Herobox running Windows 10 Home 22H2 64 Bit now is missing the Realtek LAN device “Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller”. It needs to be restarted a few times or shutdown and then rebooted after disconnecting the power supply for a few seconds pressing the Power button when disconnected to bring it back. In the Windows device manager the device is listed as disconnected when the option show hidden devices is enabled.
If that is relevant the current driver version from Realtek is: 10.32.1206.2018 dated from 2018-12-06 and this happened around twice per month. Switching to the WIFI adapter was possible as a workaround as well.
Should I also try and provide a currenty BIOS version - it was never updated so far. CPU-Z reports this string: $(AMI_ROM_NAME)_T$(2019)$(10)$(29)$(14)$(22)
Now also the Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 Card is no longer visible and cannot be used. To get the machine online I am using an Android phone and USB Tethering because all other networking hardware is not working anymore.
The Herobox now completely stopped working and does not start anymore.
End of story … I could transfer the internal M2 SSD / eMMC to another newer Herobox, but would recommend everyone experiencing the same issues to make backups and prepare to leave the hardware.
I am sorry you were not answered a year ago. For some time the forum was inactive, but now its me who is attending it. I read everyday. I appreciate that you take the time to inform other customers and us about these issues.
Thank you CHUWI Support. Is there any Chance to get the defective unit repaired or should I just recycle it?
I think its not under warranty anymore, right? , we have 1 year. But you can still send it to repair at your own cost. Are you in Europe? because then it can be sent to Germany. But most of the other areas must be sent to Hong Kong.
