Larkbox X N100 refuses to give up Win11

The SSD which came with the Larkbox N100 includes Microsoft software which is undesired. Despite setting BIOS boot order for USB first, disable Fast Boot, the PC won’t boot from the Ubuntu USB drive, which works OK on other PCs.

Is there any hidden setting?

How does Windows11 force the PC to ignore BIOS settings?

Two problems: I cannot access the BIOS. Initially, I accessed the BIOS with the escape key to make the fn keys default to media keys.
