I am looking for this file: aw88395_acf.bin
I am dual-booting this new laptop with windows 11 (original installation as shipped) and linux mint.
Linux is working very well. All the things that often don’t work actually do (wifi, touchpad, sleep functions, display, camera, bluetooth) with only one exception: there’s no sound from the internal speakers. (Sound does work correctly through bluetooth air buds.) With great help from claude.ai I have tracked this down to the above missing proprietary bin file. If I can find that file then the internal speakers should work with linux. I realize Chuwi does not support linux but I thought it might be worth asking anyway! This is an under-$500 very lightweight laptop that’s an exciting option for linux users who are otherwise shopping for things like 7 year old thinkpads or $1500 Dell XPS systems. I feel like I found the perfect device for my own linux needs (and I can live without the speakers if Chuwi doesn’t help, too).
I did look for this already on the snappy driver site. I don’t think it’s there.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions (or the file, obviously)!
Ben
