Herobook Plus BIOS Bug

Good morning all!

I have just recently gotten a new Chuwi Herobook Plus on Temu and I thought it was a really nice laptop. However, being used to installing a Linux dualboot in previous laptops, I went into the BIOS and changed the South Bridge chip to Linux, and then now my Herobook will not display anymore, but the blue light indicating it’s on is still in display.

When I looked on the Chuwi forums here, it turns out that this BIOS bug is quite a common bug reported by many people for different products, so it seems like I’m not alone.

I did disassemble the bottom of the laptop to try to find anything on the motherboard to have the CMOS reset, but that is as far as I went, as I am too scared to mess with the hardware, therefore I don’t really know what to do.

Lastly I did contact the Chuwi support agent on Temu for assistance but I figured I’d get some community help as well by posting here.

Wish you guys the best!

I could send you the BIOS but you will need to go to a repair shop, because the warranty does not cover when a customer does something with the BIOS and the computer does not work anymore.

I was going to take it to the repair shop anyway, as I don’t believe I have a warranty. UPDATE: what I mean by this is that I didnt really purchase any warranty when I bought it

Normally if its bought on official shops you have one year warranty but if customers do something on the BIOS , warranty does not cover that.
