I received a HeroBook Pro, and I have been stress testing the machine a bit. I was unlucky enough that the screen disappeared after I had been changing some BIOS settings.
I found out that the machine is booting fine, however that the screen background light has been switched off by the BIOS software.
If you use the strong search light of a mobile phone you can see what is actually on the screen. A “reset to defaults” and a subsequent “save and exit” will do the trick and the machine restores to normal with screen background light switched on.
CHUWI: please notice this is a bug in the American Megatrends BIOS software that needs to be corrected asap. You should issue a new version of the BIOS software, and explain how to update it. I expect some swift action on this subject since a lot of users seems to have been suffering from this bug.
