serial number is CBookXQ512G21051646
same problem
@microprosopus if it happens that is because your serial number does not correspond with the ones that admit that one. Could please send me your serial number so i can check?
Hello, i need this patch too. my serial number is: ZMinBXHY4H240202346
Hello, i need the patch, too. Mz serial number is: ZMinBXHY4H240201693
Hi, I am trying to get the tablet mode switch work under linux on Chuwi Minibook X N100 S/N: ZMinBXHY4H240202630
It seems that linux kernel drivers block loading intel-vbtn driver because the device Type is set to Notebook in the Chassis Information as reported by dmidecode. Would it be possible to produce a BIOS version with one of the following dmi chassis-types:
31 /* Convertible / - seems most appropriate,
32 / Detachable */
?
@ChuwiSpainSupport Hello, i need this patch too. my serial number is: ZMinBXHY4H240202346
This patch would be perfect to have, with chassis_type
32 and kernel 6.9 al lot o fproblems would be solved.
Would that also mean that plain vanilla Windows 11 installations work better? Will such a setting avoid Chuwi from sending all these batch related Windows 11 disk images and just Windows 11 drivers would do?
Trying to find a better justification to have such BIOS changes than for say 5% of minibook users only.
Cheers, Jaap
I have no clue about Windows, but I assume that for any operating system it would be best to read out real values from the BIOS.
yes, as above my serial is ZMinBXHY4H240202843 . The issue is still not resolved for me. Would I require a separate patch?
Best wishes
I just reinstalled Windows 11 Home on my Minibook X with zero issues. I believe there were like 3 devices that needed drivers outside of Windows Update. This was from a stock ISO from microsoft.com.
@microprosopus for the meantime no more patchs will be issued
When the backlight is off and I want it to turn on, usually when I start typing again after a pause, I hit the Ctrl key, (on the lower left corner, quite easy to find in the dark). Hitting the Ctrl key, by itself, has no effect except to put the computer on alert, turning on the backlight.
Hi,
Firstly, Thank you for your support efforts here.
I have a Minibook X serial 240200430 within your range above but trying to flash the rom I just get 4 - error: Rom file ROMID is not compatible with existing ROMID?
Am I missing something or do you have another file that covers my serial No?
Can you post a video of the error? if not Tech wont understand me
I have the same problem.
My keyboard backlight turns off after a few seconds. The fix BIOS provided can’t be flashed, I get the ROMID error.
My serial number is ZMinBXHY 4H240201976
Is it possible to get a patch that works for my Minibook @ChuwiSpainSupport please?
Video of the failure to update BIOS with the fix.
I will try to push again to see if its possible to make another patch because every week more and more of you come to this post.
Thank you.
That would be very much appreciated. In future I recommend setting backlit keyboard functionality so that the user simply decides whether it is on or off (with a couple of levels). Timing out after a few seconds is really not useful IMHO.
Question: my minibook x has a serial number not in the list of the ones officially supported in this thread, with respect to the backlight turning off rather than staying on permanently.
Is it worth giving it a shot with the patches in this thread (i.e. worst case scenario the patch won’t install or if it installs it won’t be making any difference)?
Or by doing so, I am sort of looking for trouble, potentially breaking the backlight functionality completely because of the mismatching patch?
