Hi,
on the N150 MiniBook X
The 512GB M2 SSD is a PCIe 3.0
Is it possible to upgrade it with a PCIe 4.0
Does the M2 Slot / Bios of the MiniBook X N150 is compatible with PCIe 4.0 ?

You should contact Chuwi support.
Ok, i will ask Chuwi Support
i would plan to upgrade it with
Samsung SSD 990 PRO M.2 PCIe NVMe 1 To
Wait a minute.
If I’m not mistaken, you can connect a PCIe 4 drive to a PCIe 3 slot.
It will only run at PCIe 3 speed.
The slot is supposed to be hardware-based, so it’s always PCIe 3 and can’t be upgraded via software.
ok,
i will give you feedback when done

Agreed, the drive will work but you won’t get the maximum theoretical performance out of it.
I have a pci 4.0 2Tb m.2 installed in my minibook B100 which had a 500Gb pci 3.0 drive installed from the factory. Works no problems! ![]()
Another note on performance, you might even see a small uptick in performance depending on the m.2 s controller. The pci version dictates maximum throughput, but read and write latency is effected by the controller. But not sure if you’d ever really notice this unless you’re doing lots of random read write work.
Thank you for your feedback
The other users are correct - you can connect a PCIe 4.0 drive to a PCIe 3.0 slot, but it will only run at PCIe 3.0 speeds.
On a semi-related note, user experience contradicts the official supported advice in the user manual - you can install larger than 1TB SSD NVMe drives in the N150 Minibook X. The official advice errs on the side of caution, so YMMV.
