I have a Corebook X since June 2021. In June 2022 I had to replace the battery, which CHUWI sent me under warranty (I had to pay about USD20 for shipping). I noticed today that the new battery is getting swollen too, so they seem to last only one year. I have just ordered this one from AliExpress. The battery is not cheap, but the merchant has good reputation, so I took the risk. Upon reception of the battery I will report the result.
I would be grateful if you could show us a few pictures of the battery when you receive it. I need to replace mine. Already removed the original from the laptop because it was really swollen and I was worried about potential damage. Now it’s only running directly from USB C with no battery power. I have asked Chuwi for a replacement under warranty for a while now but they keep telling me it’s out of stock, and they do not provide an ETA. Would be grateful for anyone sharing their experience with a third-party battery. I don’t trust any batteries manufactured in March 2021, as they all seem to swell after about 6 months usage, which is really a pity.
Sure! As soon as I receive the battery I will post the pictures. I don’t know when that will be, though, because the battery hasn’t left China yet.
My new battery from AliExpress did arrive, and works ok. I am attaching a few photographs.
1 - The trackpad before battery replacement.
2 - The swollen battery.
3 - The new battery.
4 - The new battery charging.
Hope this battery lasts longer than the previous two.
This is the new battery. For total security, before ordering, I recommend consulting the seller, providing the computer data (model, reference code, serial number, date of purchase, also including, if possible, a photograph of the swollen battery). This seller is very friendly and responds quickly.
I am curious… for those with swollen batteries, do you always plug in power while using the laptop?
For me it was always a mix. If for gaming or using 3d Model software, mainly it was connected to power supply but I often used only on the battery when not in home.
Also, I didnt use the power supply that came with it. Always on USB-C charger. Battery started to swell when I stopped using the laptop so much…
when my battery was swollen I knew there was a risk but I still continued to use it every day… I had no other choice. Otherwise I had to wait to receive it and replace it. I made a risky choice and I do not recommend anyone to do the same. I myself was not reassured when I did it. and apart from the physical danger, I could also have destroyed my computer and no longer be able to use the warranty. it was at my own risk.
