New Hi10 Air fails to boot after windows 10 activation and online updates

I have incurred a problem with initial setup of one tablet - HI10 AIr Q64G190607592 from my order of 21 pieces (order number: 104043533576494)

It was doing first windows activation/update and it collapsed(black screen with error messages) . I sent error message pics to Chuwi aftersales and they advised reinstall of official Hi10 Air O/S from http://www.mediafire.com/folder/nxlndr1f48nyf/Hi10_Air.

As per tutorial ([Hi10 Air] [Tutorial] How to reinstall Windows 10 for Chuwi Hi10 Air) Have setup USB boot and truied to install O/S 3 times. I never got to the green screen as per tutorial, but only black screen.

When I try to boot from the tablet with attached usb I get a blue screen with instruction PC has problem and needs to restart, with the error message SDBUS Internal Error.

On report to aftersales service, they redirect me to this forum for support. I can not find any messages related to this issue (?). As this tablet failed on first time initial boot up with windows activation and updates, please advise if there is a straight forward to this, or whether I should be sending the tablet back to Chuwi aftersales under warranty support?

Thank you

If you have already tried the restoration with Chuwi files several times and have not succeeded, you can try 2 things that are not complicated to try to restore the system.

  1. Try to repair with Windows tools.
  2. Reinstall a clean installation of Windows.

For both cases you need to download from the official Microsoft site a pendrive with Windows 10 Home multilanguage 64 Bits with the media management tool (not an ISO). You can find the site by typing in the “get Windows 10” search engine. An installation pendrive will be generated (what is lost in the pendrive is lost, so you will have to extract the files you do not want to lose), which also contains tools to try to repair the system.

When you have the pendrive ready you must turn on the tablet with the pendrive connected and pressing F7 intermittently until a boot selection menu comes out. You choose the pendrive and it will take you to a general Windows installation menu and in one of the options it will say “advanced or advanced tools”, you choose that option and within it “startup repair” you must start a process that, if finished well , it would repair the Windows startup and everything will work correctly.

If this option is not effective, we should perform a clean installation of Windows with the same pendrive, starting the same as the previous option, but selecting to install Windows in the menu.
You have to choose custom installation and in the installation destination selection window, mark all the partitions that appear one by one and delete them by clicking on the X icon.
Once each and every partition is deleted, an unallocated space will remain. You must mark that unallocated space (without formatting or creating any unit) as the installation destination and press next. The installation process will begin
During the installation process you will ask for the Windows key, you must click on the “I don’t have a password” button since it is on the board and Windows will be activated once you connect to the Internet.
When the process is finished Windows will be installed.

It is logical that, after a clean installation of Windows, the system does not recognize the drivers of non-Intel devices. This happens on any device of any brand. We must then install the drivers that Windows has not been able to install. To do this, after downloading the drivers of our tablet or laptop model and unzipping them into a device storage folder, disable Windows protection for the installation of unsigned drivers. To deactivate this protection, press start, restart with the shitf key pressed, and restart now. When you restart, an advanced reset screen will open in which you must press 7 or F7 to deactivate the protection and it will restart normally.
It is time to go to the device manager, by clicking on the start button with the right mouse button and in the menu choose device manager, and see in the device tree the drivers that are not correctly installed. (they have a yellow triangle). You have to click on each of them with the right button, driver properties, update driver. On the next screen, choose the option below “search for driver software on the computer”. On the next screen “choose from a list of available drivers on the computer” and on the next one you must click on the use disk button; The browser will open and select the folder where you have unzipped the downloaded drivers, checking the option to search in subfolders. The system will install the device driver. You have to repeat this process with each of the devices with a yellow triangle. Keep in mind that if you restart, the protection will be activated again, so you must activate it again when you have to install a driver.

Hi; thanks for the information . I will try working through it. I have noticed on your Drivers link that it goes to a page for Hi10 Pro Drivers C109s.zip. My tablets are all Hi 10 Air models not Hi 10 Pro – is there a difference in the drivers I should be downloading?

Thanks

Rob

If your tablet is Hi10 Air you need other drivers. Avoid the post by changing the link, changed

Your driver links are pointing me to Hi10 Pro Drivers (see below) .

What is the link to Hi 10 Air drivers for widows please.
Thank you

Hi manonegra222 LĂder

Can you please give me the link to the Hi 10 Air divers as your link points only to Hi10 Pro drivers.

Thanks

Apparently they are the same

Hi manonegra222 LĂder

I have tried startup repair and it failed and then followed your instructions for a clean installation of Windows. This failed because Windows could not find a drive (although in trying the repair it recognized a copy of windows was already existing on the drive), and Windows requested the drivers for setting up a drive.

I used a pen drive with the downloaded Chuwi drivers but Windows did not recognize any drivers (Storage Drivers) it could use for the identifying/setting up the drive. The install process could not proceed.

Can you please advise next steps.

Thank you.

Further to above, can you please reply and advise how I return this tablet for repair/replacement under warranty as this tablet is a failure that appears (as you have not responded) to be unable to be sorted and needs to be returned. I need the information to be able to rteurn this tablet (address , details, department , warranty return form etc)
Thank you.
